Email Friend Contact Author (eMusicWire.Org) – Yes, it's technically March, and the snow is finally melting...but it's still Phebruary as far as Tom Watt & The Fruitcakes [http://www.tomwatt.com] are concerned. This Saturday marks the final performances for the tribute artist's Phundraiser Phanatic Phebruary concerts.
After playing a series of benefit shows in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, the band thought it fitting to close out their Phebruary series in another area equally important to the many years of success that the band has enjoyed so far. "It just makes sense to us," said Watt recently. "The folks around eastern Ohio have historically been among our most loyal and enthusiastic fans from the very beginning." After a thoughtful pause, he wryly quipped, "They more or less helped grow the legend." Watt and his band The Fruitcakes will have a few surprises in store for the fans in Kent this Saturday, March 6th, as they take the stage for two separate performances. The first concert is a fundraising event for Theodore Roosevelt High School on Main Street in Kent. The curtain goes up at 7pm and is an all-ages, family-oriented event. Immediately following is a 21+ concert at nearby Water Street Tavern. This second concert will be more of the raucous affair that Watt's fans expect, often lasting well beyond the final encore. Quite fitting, really. After all, March IS supposed to come in like a lion. For more information, please visit www.tomwatt.com/calendar.htm. Phins Up!../).. # # #
