Email Friend Contact Author (eMusicWire.Org) – Washington, DC – Patients, staff and visitors at Children’s National Medical Center danced and sang along to a special free performance of The Bea & The Bug Extravaganza! featuring a cast of colorfully costumed insect characters, children and historical figures, plus a live band.
“The Bea and The Bug! was an outstanding performance here at the hospital and made a difference in the lives of our patients. We have already received an overwhelming response. Whether it was the wide smiles on the faces of our patients or the therapeutic energy [the show] brought to the atrium space, everyone agrees, it was a sensational hit!” said Dana Kristina-Joi Morgan, Performance Coordinator at Children’s National Medical Center. “We were thrilled to once again perform at Children’s National – it’s our fifth performance over the years since the show originally launched in 1999, and you can’t beat the smiles on the faces of the kids and the adults,” echoed Gale Nemec, who heads the Alexandria-based non-profit Education and Entertainment Foundation, Inc. and is the show’s creator and Executive Producer. Some 75 people participated in the show, held in the main hospital atrium Tuesday, traveling back in time with BungleBug™, HoneyBea™, DragonFly™, Trevor, Morgan and the BungleBug™ Singers to meet Thomas Jefferson as a child, Nellie Bly and Benjamin Banneker.
